Kayla and I have been doing soooo much research in the last week! Planning a trip abroad is exhausting! We have been looking into specific places to travel/live, how to prepare and what to expect. Then what most of our time has been devoted to is actually about this whole blog experience. There is so much to learn! Between debating whether to create a website, buy our domain and how to design our blog we are wore out, but none the less still determined! There is just so much out there between these two topics and being newbies for both doesn’t make it any easier. Thank goodness there’s experienced bloggers and travelers out there that have been helping and inspiring us. So if you find yourself in the same boat as us here’s a couple blogs and websites that have been helping us find our way:
1. Nomad Samuel (http://nomadicsamuel.com/)
Has helped us with advice on both traveling and blogging. He has great tips and good insights to the ins and outs of both subjects. Our favorite two articles that we have been constantly referencing are:
2. Trish Jones (http://www.trishjones.com/blog-vs-website/)
This website has some good advice on creating a blog or a website and really helped us get a better understanding of websites, domains, hosts, web creators, etc.
3. Casey Neistat (www.youtube.com/user/caseyneistat)
Not primarily a traveler or a blogger, though he does do both, Casey is very inspiring! He dropped out of high school at age 15 and ended up becoming famous with his extremely creative and sometimes provocative films. His Youtube channel is one I can watch for hours.
We still have so much to do but it’s the experiences that you get along the way that counts and Kayla and I have been having a blast with all this. We get to sit in a hipster coffee shop all afternoon planning and researching our travels; we have nothing to complain about! Chasing Gaia is one of the best and exciting experiences I’ve had in my life and it’s barely begun…
